IGN(In Game Name): CouldBeDumpster What Language are you applying for?: Japanese How did your character learn the language? (100+ Characters): Kai Yokuna was born in Tokyo, Japan. He had a Filipino mother and a Japanese father. When his parents were deciding on whether to teach him both languages so he could be bilingual at a young age, they had decided against it. His father believe that if they were to try to teach two languages at once, Kai would grow up with speech problems. He apparently had seen his friends who would often get words mixed up between languages which would sometimes interfere with business or conversations. His mother silently disagreed with the idea but instead chose to follow his fathers wishes. So Kai's parents had spoke Japanese exclusively to try to get him to mimic the words when he was learning to speak. Once he was around the age of 5, he was able to speak fluently with little to no mistakes in his speech. This was the only language Kai would be able to speak until he had taken up languages courses in school for extra credit. How does this benefit your character's roleplay?: At this age, Kai still uses his national language in remembrance of his childhood and his life in Karakura. This also benefits Kai's ability to be able to communicate with other Japanese speaking citizens. In the case of needing information to be private from another person, they'd be able to speak a language that others may not understand.

At the age of 3, his two twin sisters were born, Miko and Kinoko. After they were born his father became more strict with Kai since he was a male, saying things like "you'll be the man of the house one day and you need to protect your sisters". Once he was 6 years old, he found out his father was a serial killer, leaving Kai traumatized as he witnessed one of the murders. From that point on he was abused by his father with the abuse only growing stronger once he turned 12. He had discovered he was bisexual. His mother was very accepting of the fact and so were his sisters who were now 9. On the other hand, his father was very homophobic, he had locked Kai in a room for 5 weeks until Kai lied about being straight. His younger sister, Kinoko, knew about this and when Kai was 15, she decided to burn down their house with their father inside. During the process of the house fire, their mother burned alive as well. Sending the 3 to an orphanage. Kai ran away from the orphanage at 16, leaving his sisters behind and taking a boat to South California. Where he learned Spanish and lived on the streets while attending a public school with fake information. Once he moved back to Japan at the age of 18, he and a friend of his had a rather harsh dispute, Kai lost his eye during their physical fight. The reason for this fight was unknown and the two resolved the issue after many disputes afterward. Kai is now 23 years old, he moved to Seoul a few months ago to have a fresh new start. He is trying to move on from his childhood trauma as well as to see new places. This new start may be a good chance for him to do better and at his age, he will be able to make the right decisions needed to have that. DESCRIPTION: Before you stood a 6’2 male, with a strong, slick build. He would weigh roughly 182 pounds. His hair would be a short medium brown that would compliment his right eye that appeared to be a soft light blue. The left eye would have a large hole where the eyeball would have been. Underneath his left eye would be a large scar going down his cheek. His voice would have a deep, soft tone that was soothing to the ear. The smell of honey lingered behind him.

(100+ Characters): When Kai moved to america at the age of 16, he traveled through south California in the small Spanish towns. Surrounded by people who could barely understand English and could not speak a word of Japanese, he went to take small classes inside and outside of school to better understand his peers. For a short period of time he worked in a gift shop where his manager would also teach him how to answer customer questions. Some of his friends from classes would help him learn how to ask for things such as directions, food, where the nearest bathroom was, any practical thing he may or may not need. He was able to start picking up on things when he would walk around the towns, understanding small bits and phrases after only a couple months of living there. Kai became comfortable living there after he became fluent in the language. . The language became a breeze for him. How does this benefit your character's roleplay?: This will help my characters role play by enhancing his backstory as well as enhancing his lore with other characters. Kai is known to be a flirtatious and somewhat confusing character, when he goes back and forth between languages he is able to speak with multiple others at once about different topics. Confusing only the party that cant speak the certain language

When he was around 3 years old his mother became pregnant with twin baby girls, Miko and Kinoko. Once the twins were born his father became more strict with Kai and started to abuse him. He would say "Once I'm gone you're the man of the house. Start acting like it". Kai figured out when he was 6 that his father was a serial killer and that his mother was too scared to leave him. At the age of 12 he figured out that he was attracted to boys, when his father found out he trapped him in a burning hot room with several men who would torture him. He was locked in there for 5 weeks until he finally lied and admitted he was straight.The trauma of physical abuse, being locked in rooms, and water boarded made Kai psychotic. At the age of 18, Kai was attacked by an old friend who cut out his left eye. The eyeball was damaged beyond repair, taken by the male as a token. The reason for attack was unknown. Underneath the eye would be a large scar going down on his cheek that would never heal. His right eye was a soft light blue.Along his body would be several large and small scars that were years old. Kai is normally found in formal clothing or casual clothes, as he gives off a gentlemen like vibe whenever he is not engaged in drama.
