OOC INFORMATION: IGN: Trailmixpeanut Age: 27 Timezone: CST If you have discord, what is your tag? Peanut4270 Do you have a working microphone? yes Any bans/warnings? A previous ban from a misunderstanding that was cleared up recently. List any past/current applications. In this beta, this is technically my first. Not entirely sure how to find my OG acceptance in PD from the first beta I participated in since the forums are different. What is your motivation for joining EMS? I've been in EMS a couple times in different servers, as well as this one. My biggest motivation to join is the people in EMS, many of whom I've worked with across several servers. We've trained together, worked together, and enjoyed good RP in EMS across different platforms. I would also like to join because I genuinely enjoy the RP, it's something I've practiced/gotten good at over the past year or so. I try to help out with documents/training when I can, and I'd like to join to continue my work in EMS as well as helping solidify the faction. My intention is to play a relaxed role in the department, helping train and build structure, but also allowing myself some enjoyable RP among friends and between new server members. State the role you are applying for [Nurse, Doctor, Surgeon, Psychiatrist] Surgeon List all the departments of EMS and what they do. Doctor: One of the four main branches, doctors conduct medical exams, diagnose and treat patients. They may prescribe medications, can perform basic medical procedures, but may not perform surgeries. They also may give recommendations for someone to see a psychiatrist. Surgeons: Medical professionals who may conduct exams, diagnose, and treat patients - though their expertise lies in surgery. Primarily, they will be physically repairing, removing, and readjusting organ tissues. The focus is on internal or traumatic injuries that require a patient under anesthesia. Nurses: Medical professionals that conduct exams, administer medications, and assist doctors and surgeons. Nurses perform smaller tasks such as stitching, administering IV's, administering medications, keeping track of patients, etc. Psychiatrists: Mental health professionals that help to diagnose and treat mental disorders. Psychiatrists may conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide long-term treatment and therapy as well as medications to those suffering from mental illness. How active are you? How familiar are you with Detail/Medical RP? Upon joining the server, I can be online when I'm off of work. In terms of hours, I would say I can contribute 2 hours a day, more if needed. IN-CHARACTER SECTION: PART 1: Character Apprehension: Tell us about your character; how do they look, and what makes them unique? Rayne is a growing adult with white hair that sticks out in tufts - his eyes are dark blue, and he has a somewhat pale complexion. He mimics his father, his jawline sharp and his facial features stern. His resting face appears either neutral or hostile to others, but he's quick to smile if he catches anyone staring. What makes Rayne unique is primarily his personality. In the islands of Tanoa, all sorts of people may arise, all with their own wacky styles, but among them, Rayne's physical appearance isn't anything to gawk at. However, he carries a sense of humor much different than those surrounding him. While the world has toughened the hearts of others, who keep face among their superiors and peers, this never applied to Rayne. Since high school, he's always tried to get others to smile, no matter the antic. While staying in the lines of social norms, he sought to keep others entertained by his wacky stunts and goofy jokes. His personality is more extroverted than the average person, which makes it easy for him to make friends. If he's not feeling particularly extroverted (spoiler, not very often) he remains polite and courteous to those around him, which is another rare sight. Explain your character’s outlook on co-workers, personality, and future life. Overly optimistic. Rayne has a bubbling sense of optimism about teamwork, and he's scarily motivated for his future. His initial thought while applying to the hospital was to become a part of the team, making lifelong friends who he could work beside in a positive setting. He's determined to assert his presence and help where help is needed, though he's more focused on helping maintain a role than move up to a managerial position. He wants to enjoy working alongside others while diagnosing and treating patients. But what he's most excited for is learning. Having completed medical school doesn't make you an expert, according to his books. He knows he's read and studied just about every practical surgery, but he wants to experience them and promote his understanding. He also wants to discover a specialty, whether that be in neuro, cardio, general, or any of the other surgical categories. And if he can't find a specialty, jack of all trades would certainly suit him well. Does this character have a criminal past? None. Background:[Minimum 100 words] Rayne Eryx Class Clown voted Best Facial Expressions in his high school yearbook From the very beginning, Rayne was a happy kid - his mom used to tell him he had two left feet but a goofy look to make up for it. In terms of family life, Rayne was born to a single mother who left his father years back. She had never kept in contact with Rayne's father, and only revealed him when Rayne was old enough. All Rayne learned was how much of a prick his dad was, but he didn't find that very shocking, and it didn't change how he felt. He was still one hell of a momma's boy. When he got to high school, he'd already made his little clique, but it was easy for him to step into a broader social setting with his attitude. Even the nastiest comments didn't deter him, he'd just keep walking and talking. For most of his high school years, he slacked off, getting good grades without trying and spending his free time pulling elaborate, harmless pranks on the students and faculty. By the time he'd finished high school, he was either loved or hated by the recipients of his charades. When college rolled around, Rayne had no clue what he wanted to do. He'd wasted so much time in high school he neglected to think about a future, and for the first year of college he took a couple core classes to pass the time. But, after wrapping his car around a lamp post, he'd broken his leg and found himself stuck in the back of an ambulance with a paramedic. Despite his injuries, Rayne stayed upbeat and alert, talking with his new friend to pass the time and pay less mind to the painful injury. They ended up talking about the paramedic's job, and Rayne was convinced to join a medical field. A couple weeks later, after recovering from his injury, he impulsively switched majors. And there, he started med school on a whim. It was a complete and utter shock to his mom that he stuck with med school so long, but she was nonetheless proud of her son. Now, he aspires to join a team of 'kick ass' surgeons that save the lives of others. Which he got when he enrolled in his first internship and following residency. He found himself working with a full-female surgical team. Originally, he thought they may be a bit uptight, but they ended up matching his positive attitude. They taught him an arsenal of cheesy jokes, and he got used to being the only dude around. His move to Tanoa came after his mother decided to leave Sweden. She'd retired recently and wanted to move somewhere more rural than their current setting. In theory, Rayne didn't have to follow her, but he adored his mother and moved to the island without a doubt in his mind. PART 2: Character Details: Character’s Full Name: Rayne Eryx Character’s Title: [e.g. Mrs, Mx, Mr, etc] Mr. Character’s Age: [25+ -70] 27 Character’s Gender: Male Character’s Nationality: Russian/Swedish Character’s Marital Status: Single PART 3: Academic Details: Working Experience(s): Surgical Internship in Sweden Years of Residency: 4 Academic Degree: Bachelors in Biology Doctor of Medicine (MD) 4 Year Residency Board Certification (In Sweden) Major (s): Biology Minor (s): Stem Oath: As a physician of Himera, you pledge to practice medicine with humility, honesty, compassion, and integrity. You will provide the best care to the citizens of Himera, refraining from judgment, the patient’s past, or your own beliefs. Signature: Rayne Eryx

OOC section: IGN: Trailmixpeanut Discord [ex. Habilitation]: Peanut4270 Time zone: CST Any previous bans/warns? I was previously banned for some misunderstandings cleared up recently. This was a couple months back during the previous beta release. Describe your current level of activity on the server: I can join for an hour or two every day, more on my off days if I'm needed or pinged. My work schedule varies, but I work Monday, Thursday and Friday normally. Do you have access to a microphone? Yes Do you have any previous experience with police work? I've done police work here on this server before as a previous lieutenant in the OG beta, and the commissioner in the second beta. Otherwise, I've had experience in a few other smaller servers. My experience/capabilities extend from IRP field work to establishing/enacting protocol and training lower ranking officers. Do you have any experience with CombatRP? My experience with CombatRP originated with gangrp, but I switched over to police work and thoroughly enjoyed that style of combat. I've CombatRPed on other servers, but I have also been in combat with several other members of this server in active shoot outs, traditional rp, and some p2l as well. What motivates you to apply for HPD? The commissioners hat. Being serious, I know quite a few people on the server and thoroughly appreciate their company. The PD has always been something I enjoy, no matter where I was positioned within. From cadet to commissioner, I've had memorable experiences, and I would like the chance to make more within the faction with old and new players alike. I would also like to introduce a new character to the roster, providing interesting and unique RP experiences. With that, I would like to help out in the faction, as I understand how stressful it can be with the many tasks going on in the station. I’ll help out icly and oocly wherever need be. IC information: Character name: Rayne Eryx Character age: 27 Nationality: Russian/Finnish Preferred pronouns: He/Him What motivates your character to join the force? Rayne’s estranged father (Sawyer, ick, I know) worked in the police force for a good portion of his life. His father was a dirty cop known for his heavy hand - Rayne, however, took his inspiration from Paul Blart (Mall Cop). He intends to take the job seriously, but also provide comic relief to an otherwise tense station. He wants to leave behind a legacy different than the one that plagues his family name - standing as a community pillar rather than just another uptight cop. Is your character familiar with self-defense? Very much so. He hasn’t officially worked in the police force before, but he has taken self-defense and studied police tactics. He’ll need to pass his academy physical to acquire real-time hand-to-hand combat experience. He also lacks field experience and will need to be trained in and out of station to hone his reflexes and memorize protocol. How well does your character work with others? Rayne has a very mellow personality; it takes a certain level of crazy for him to avoid someone. In a general workplace setting, he enjoys working together with others instead of alone. He likes helping out with just about anything, from menial tasks to high stake missions, as long as he gets to be in the mix. His prosocial behavior is part of what led him to applying for the police force. Is your character independent or a team player? As mentioned prior, Rayne is prosocial, preferring the company of others. He’d rather approach a problem with the coordinated efforts of a team than by his lonesome. He can work alone, but patrolling with a duo or performing group tasks is more his style. What makes your character unique? He takes inspiration from Paul Blart - his intentions are to lighten the tense environment of the police force. Rayne knows the fine line between when he needs to behave professionally versus when he can joke around, and he does not intend to distract other officers, but he wants to make the work environment something a little less dismal. His presence is otherwise relaxed, and he doesn’t mind picking up unwanted tasks to busy his shifts, so he’s often found mopping, sweeping, or filing paperwork for no apparent reason. Backstory [100+ words] Rayne Eryx Candy Crush Connoisseur Rayne spent the majority of his academic life a class clown, going as far as to extend the senior prank day to a senior prank WEEK. He grew up on a small, isolated farm out in the Finland countryside. Most of his childhood was spent tilling gardens and chucking pig manure. So, when he got the chance to go to school, he took the opportunity to have a little fun. Sticking tacks on the teacher's chair, taping firecrackers under the toilet seat, and setting off the fire alarm during a thunderstorm were just a couple of his outlandish pranks. Eventually, he leveled out after his stepdad threatened to send him to boot camp. But, taking that to heart, he started a self-defense class, followed by an MMA training program. He originally brought up the idea of the police academy as a joke, but his parents took the idea seriously, offering to pay for his ticket if he found an overseas job. Graduating college, he set off to Himera with the intention of entering the academy, passing exams, and bringing a livelier presence to the force. As a side note, he’s beat all the released Candy Crush games. Level of education [Associates, Bachelors, Masters, etc.] Highschool Diploma/Firearm Safety Certificate/Associates in Criminal Justice Scenarios: If charged by an armed delinquent, how should you react? If the delinquent is armed with a blunt weapon, I would attempt a clean tase, followed by a disarm of the weapon, radioing for backup after the immediate threat has been dealt with. If the delinquent is armed with a sharp or otherwise lethal weapon, I would shoot them center mass until they have stopped charging, and they could be disarmed. I would then radio for medical assistance, backup in case of any other lurking aggressors, and administer first aid as quickly as possible. While you are at the station, another officer sends out a distress signal. What do you do? Radio or gather the necessary force, making sure myself and others are properly equipped before arriving at the scene and de-escalating the situation. Follow-up with radioing EMS if it is needed, returning to the station after the situation is handled. You are surrounded by several armed individuals; how do you react? If I can get out of their grasp, I would radio for backup, giving my location and any details about my assailants. If I could possibly escape on foot, I would. If they are attacking with lethal force, I would fire center mass at each of them until the threat is neutralized and I could radio for EMS and administer first aid. If they were attacking with non-lethal weapons, I would attempt to disarm and disable as many assailants as I could with physical force/my taser until my backup arrived. You believe a higher up officer is abusing their power, what do you do? I would not go off of assumption - I would gather the necessary evidence that said higher up is abusing authority before I brought it to an even higher standing officer.

- 1 While I understand cops are hard to kill, that is entirely the point. But let's dig into that and explain why, as well as my reasoning for keeping the /roll 200. In essence, gangrp can be a very fun and thrilling experience, but it can also quickly get out of hand, disrupting others RP and becoming an overall nuisance when done improperly. Cops are there to enforce the law in rp, yes, but cops also serve to neutralize gangrp when it gets too out of hand. It keeps the server clean, prevents players from running around with a machete with total disregard to fearrp. We are MEANT to be hard to kill - but it is not impossible. In fact, catching a cop by themselves, they would be fairly easy to neutralize, but it's not something you can do carelessly. At the moment, most cops actually have the same gear as you guys, though realistically a better stock, since this server is based in KOREA after all. Cops sport t2 armor and glocks, both of which are not put into place unless someone is actively holding a gun or bladed weapon to their face. If you mess with a cop in real life and they radio for help, describing weaponry, naturally you're going to catch a swarm of others all loaded up with swat gear. Also, keep in mind, gangrpers will also be fighting each other, not just cops, or I should hope so. Now, going over the roll 200, that would also be realistic for a cop. Not only are they fully grown adults, but ones whose profession IS in combat/firearms. They not only train in basics for the initial couple of months, but for the ENTIRETY of their careers in ACTUAL self-defense, not just street fighting. Officers are there to neutralize threats, that's what they are trained for, something a large majority of the population is not.

This is the same level of dedication I have to my demon bird

Open worlds are alright, thats kind of how Horizon is. It's a story mode with an open world, which is my favorite kind of game to play. Probably gonna redownload it and play it again soon.
-
Let's get the forums active again! That being said, my favorite kinds of games are incredibly story rich- my top two being God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn.
-
I quite enjoyed the beta, though SPD did get a bit stressful with the amount of hate/targetting received by Gangrpers. Still had a great time , met some new people and enjoyed some decent roleplay.
-
Definitely agree with this suggestion. Having too many factions crowds the server with multiple discords, making it seem more practical to create an organization [which could be called a news station] that updates the player base on current events.

From the more basic flavors, I love Cookie Dough and Christmas Cookie.
